Sometimes it's better to turn the cheek than to have the cheek be turned
Sometimes it's better to hide your eyes than to see your fancies burned
Sometimes it's better to take to heel than to be cast upon the stones
Sometimes it's better to let it go than to wait until it's gone

...But...

Sometimes it's better to face the wrath than to cower in its shade
Sometimes it's better to stand your ground even after the tide has changed
Sometimes it's better to bear the cold for the sake of the summer sun
Sometimes it's better to lose it all in the hopes it may be won.
